If it’s any consolation, we’re inching there, in my opinion. I don’t talk about in the piece, but we already kind of have a ground work in the form of MPOs and Census designations like MSAs and CSAs already collect data on them. Other encouraging local trends: city-county mergers and large municipal areas (e.g. municipalities like Houston and Jacksonville which capture their suburbs).
